This is a critical support and coordination role reporting to the Security Governance Manager. Key responsibilities include the management of independent audits of the operation and to review the feedback of themes and report areas for improvement from the audit and compliance team to the Security Governance Manager. This feedback can, in turn, be incorporated into operational changes and / or training content and material. This will ensure continuous identification of areas for improvement and the development and implementation of training in line with company and customer expectations.
This role will also support the Security Governance Manager in conducting site security risk assessments and associated activities which require distinct security advice and expertise.
This position provides a unique opportunity to be one of the key players at the Centre of a dedicated and established security governance team of staff providing crucial support to the Security Governance Manager and senior management team of HMCTS working with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
The individual will need to be a well-presented customer-focused operative with a positive approach to internal and external stakeholders emphasising communication and quality as part of their role.
Critically, you will sit alongside the Operational Standards and Improvement Manager who holds the lead for operational training, coordinating closely so that the integrated syllabus supports both disciplines. Accordingly, you may be called upon to contribute to the HMCTS Training Strategy Group. You will develop and propose a program of routine review with the Security Governance Manager to ensure the training syllabus reflects operational priorities and the emerging themes as a result of audits.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure Audits are completed against identified schedules, and quality reports are subject to quality assurance.
- Conduct thematic audits as directed by the Security Governance Manager.
- Provide analysis of audits conducted by the Governance team to ensure themes and learning are identified, understood and presented to the Security Governance Manager to support the continuous improvement cycle.
- Monitor and escalate outstanding audit actions to the Head of Security Operations.
- Providing resilience and support to the Security & Governance Manager including deputising in their absence.
- Ensure the technical content of the contract assignment instructions are continuously reviewed in line with changes and developments in the operation and training.
- Full understanding and implementation of all Health and Safety regulations and safe systems of work in conjunction and with the support of the H&S team.
- In conjunction with Operational Standards and Improvement Manager support the co-ordinate the production of technical training materials and different presentation processes for in-house courses.
- In conjunction with Operational Standards and Improvement Manager, conduct an annual technical review of training content to ensure fit for purpose and in line with all current requirements.
