This is a fixed term contract, until Mid-November 2026. We are looking for candidates that can work 3-5 days a week and the shift times will be either 0800-1600, 0930-1800 or 1200-2000.
This role is based at Chessington World of Adventures. All our Security Controllers will ensure efficient and appropriate Resort wide communication, taking control of all communication networks and driving a culture of effective and clear information sharing across all departments.
Whilst the role is largely based in the Control Room itself, the impact of this position is Resort wide. Playing a part in the Attraction Incident Management Team, the Security Controllers will be required to remain calm under pressure, be adaptable to change, be innovative and fast moving, and take a proactive approach to situations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the effective operation of all CCTV and Security alarm systems for the Resort, reporting problems and taking a proactive approach to use to maximise efficiency.
- Downloading CCTV and providing evidence packages in support of prosecutions or Resort incidents when required.
- Taking a proactive approach to potential criminal activity, including possible hostile reconnaissance, proactively supporting the Security Department to uphold the Resort’s Terms and Conditions.
- To preserve the security of the Resort whilst ensuring the safety of its guests, staff and contractors.
- Support in the safe and secure operation of the Resort according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures, legislation, and guidelines.
- Able to accurately report on the Security Department’s search operation, recording detailed and specific information to allow for weekly, monthly, and yearly statistic gathering.
- Can remain calm in emergency and high-pressure situations, following training and process to deliver information effectively and clearly both internally and externally.
- An ability to multitask and prioritise effectively, depending on operational demand at any one time.
- Follow training on escalation and always reporting, utilising appropriate communication methods to share relevant information, in an organised and efficient way.
- To ensure the Security Management Team are kept informed of any situation that could adversely affect or put the Resort assets at risk.
- Maintaining excellent standards of professionalism, integrity, and maturity at all times, acting as a role model.
- Coordinate emergency situations on site in accordance with the current standard operating procedures.
We are looking for:
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate in an effective and positive manner with all customers and colleagues
- Must have an active and in date SIA CCTV licence and experience using CCTV systems
- High level of motivation both self and in a team
- Proficient in a variety of communications systems, including radio and telephone use.
- Proficient in English language
- Team Player and ability to work independently
- Lead and uphold required standards in moments of conflict or violence and deliver good results
- Interpersonal and relationship building skills within team and networking with other employees at the resort
