About The Role:

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 07:00 - 16.00
 
As the Waste Operations Manager, you will manage the operational services, ensuring exceptional service levels are maintained and customer needs are met. The Operations Manager will implement, guide and control operational safety, performance, quality and cost effectiveness in line with company policy and procedures and ensure the cost-effective management of the services on the contract, including waste collections Hazardous/Non-Hazardous, road sweeping, tanker works and ancillary services whilst operating in line with compliance, legislation requirements and customer satisfaction levels. 
 
  • Carry out site inspections and waste quality audits to ensure standards are being maintained within the waste yards across the client sites. Assist the client with internal/External environmental ISO14001/45001 H&S audits. Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on waste topics and requests. 
  • Ensure the teams fully utilise the capacity of all waste provisions/containers, manage the collections from site in a timely manner and control unnecessary expenditure. Manage the waste operational performance of the contract and the adherence of KPIs to ensure financial penalties are not applied
  • Responsibility for management, development and discipline of waste supervisors and operatives across all sites. Support contract management team where required to ensure staff achieve required results.  
  • Management of waste contractors in line with SLAs and KPIs to ensure smooth removal of waste from site, completing the clients internal waste removal documentation and collating relevant documentation to support reporting, validation financial management and invoicing requirements.

  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Account Director to support the contract.

  • Work with Account Administrator to deliver monthly report on time and ensure reporting is accurate.

  • Ensure customer communication is clearly supported with analysis and data that can drive effective decision making at a rapid pace. 

Experience required:

• 

Ability to present information clearly and concisely to clients/senior management. - Essential

• 

Extensive knowledge of the waste Hierarchy, circular economy and zero waste principles. - Essential

• 

Waste Supplier & Duty of Care management. – Essential

• 

Good knowledge of the waste code of practise, hazardous waste regulations, waste framework directive and environmental protection act. - Essential

• 

Extensive experience in waste management operations & current waste practises - Essential

• 

Hazardous waste minimum of 3 years. - Essential

• 

ADR awareness trained. - Essential

• 

Lithium-Ion battery awareness (Vehicle/Equipment) - Desirable

• 

Project co-ordination/management. – Desirable

• 

Understanding of the 17 x sustainability development goals – Desirable 

• 

Knowledge of ISO14001 and experience of audit requirements - Desirable
