About The Role:

 
Location: London -  Covent Garden, with travel to other sites in Zone 1.
 
Role Overview:

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the commercial aspects of the major client account, including client relationship management, contract variations negotiation, financial oversight and risk management. Also lead a team of Finance Coordinators, ensuring compliance with financial standards while driving profitability and customer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial management within the Facilities Management industry, strong accounting experience and excellent negotiation and communication skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to their work.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities: 
 
  • To provide collaborative support to the shared services team leaders.
  • To manage and report on the underlying financial records for Contract ensuring compliance to IFRS and internal policies.
  • To assist the Senior Finance Business Partner with the Month End reporting process including taking the lead for preparation of audit files and be a key point of liaison between external auditors and internal stakeholders including sector finance teams and contract managers.
  • Preparation of Client Reports and key focus on building constructive and collaborative relationships with the key stakeholders.
  • Commercial pricing review and reconciliation against the actual financial performance ensuring that the priced margins are achieved and maximised.
  • To successfully manage the Finance Coordinators team, lead and develop the team promoting training and staff development for the team including liaising with training providers for team members undertaking professional qualification training.
  • Drive continuous finance and operational process improvement throughout all the finance procedures adopting best practice.
  • To ensure balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled to underlying records and risks are identified and mitigated on a timely basis.
  • Ensure robustness and completeness of financial records so that quarterly declarations to Group are compliant.
  • To act as a key contact for completion and reporting to the Group Function.

    Qualifications & Experience: 

    Previous experience desirable/essential for technical competence of the role:

    • Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA
    • Experience of day-to-day management of a finance team in a medium-large organisation in a similar role.
    • Proven track record of reviewing financial accounts, postings and reports.
    • Year end audit experience including managing requirements to meet a strict reporting timetable and acting as primary liaison with external auditors as and if required.
    • Knowledge of SAP/Dynamics software desirable or equivalent
    • Good knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, IFRS
