We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee commercial performance across a portfolio of facilities management accounts in London and the South.
Working closely with the Commercial Director, Account Directors and operational teams, you’ll provide clear commercial guidance, strengthen financial controls and protect our contractual position while maintaining effective client relationships.
You’ll oversee cost and revenue management, forecasting, applications for payment, contract change and supply chain performance. This role would suit a commercially focused leader who can turn complex information into practical actions that improve margin, cash flow and service delivery.
Key responsibilities

Lead commercial management and governance across multiple FM accounts.
-
Manage regional reporting, budgets, forecasts, cost-to-complete, accruals, work in progress (WIP), revenue and margin analysis.
-
Identify and address revenue leakage, unrecovered costs, aged WIP and disputed payments.
-
Oversee accurate and timely applications for payment and invoicing, supported by clear records and completion evidence.
-
Manage contract administration and change control, including variations, early warnings and compensation events where applicable.
-
Assess the cost, programme and risk implications of proposed changes before commitments are made.
-
Support procurement, tendering, supplier negotiations and the development of competitive rate cards.
-
Review subcontractor commitments, valuations, payments and final accounts.
-
Maintain a clear regional view of commercial risks and opportunities, agreeing and tracking corrective actions.
-
Lead commercial input to client meetings, account reviews, audits and business planning.
-
Coach and develop commercial colleagues and strengthen commercial awareness across operational teams.
-
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and support profitable growth.
About you
You’ll bring senior commercial management or quantity surveying experience within facilities management, construction, infrastructure or a comparable service environment.
You’ll be confident managing several contracts at once, challenging costs and negotiating solutions while building productive relationships with clients and colleagues.
Essential skills and experience
-
Proven experience managing commercial performance across multiple accounts, contracts or business units.
-
Strong practical knowledge of cost control, forecasting, WIP, applications for payment and revenue recovery.
-
Experience administering contracts, managing change and overseeing suppliers and subcontractors.
-
Working knowledge of relevant FM contract forms and commercial models, including NEC where applicable.
-
Strong analytical skills, with advanced Excel and commercial reporting capability.
-
Clear communication skills and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
-
Ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain oversight of a geographically dispersed portfolio.
-
A degree or equivalent professional experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction, Finance or a related discipline.
-
Willingness to travel regularly across London and the South.
Desirable experience
-
Hard FM or complex multi-site portfolio experience.
-
Experience leading and developing commercial teams.
-
Familiarity with CAFM, ERP, Power BI or similar reporting systems.
-
Membership of, or progress towards, RICS, CICES, CIMA or another relevant professional body.
-
NEC4 accreditation or formal NEC training.
