About The Role:

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 

To lead, manage and continuously improve all cleaning, sanitation, hygiene and waste management activities across the wine production areas, warehouse facilities, laboratories, welfare areas and office accommodation. The role ensures compliance with food safety standards, health and safety legislation, environmental requirements and company quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment.
 

Hygiene & Cleaning Management 

    • Develop, implement and maintain site cleaning and sanitation programmes.
    •  Manage all cleaning operations across wine production, bottling, storage, warehouse and office areas.
    • Ensure cleaning schedules are completed effectively and recorded accurately.
    • Monitor cleaning standards through routine inspections and audits.
    • Maintain hygiene procedures in accordance with HACCP principles and food manufacturing best practice.
    •  Ensure appropriate cleaning methodologies are applied to production equipment, tanks, bottling lines and processing areas. 
    • Oversee deep cleaning and periodic sanitation programmes.

 

Food Safety & Compliance 

    • Ensure compliance with: 
    • Food Safety Act 1990
    • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
    • COSHH Regulations
    • Environmental Protection legislation
    • BRCGS Food Safety Standards (where applicable)
    • Company quality management systems
    • Support internal and external audits.
    • Investigate hygiene-related non-conformances and implement corrective actions. 
    • Maintain hygiene records and audit documentation.
  •  

    Team Leadership 

      • Train and supervise cleaning operatives and hygiene technicians.
      • Develop staff competencies through coaching and regular performance reviews.
      • Prepare work schedules and rota management.
      •  Monitor attendance, productivity and performance standards. 
      • Promote a positive safety culture and high standards of housekeeping.
     
    Qualifications
    • BICS qualified or equivalent 
    • Holds IOSH Certification  

    • BIFM Award, but ideally Certificate of qualification 

    • Knowledge of other soft services and experience in delivery is preferred
    Experience
    • Proven track record in delivering effective customer service whilst maintaining appropriate operating margins.   
    • Evidence of “hands-on” operational experience and a track record of successful client relationship management. 

    • Proven record of managing, motivating, developing and retaining a workforce. 
    • Must be self-motivated and results orientated with effective inter – personal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

    • Maintain Client Liaison throughout the centre and liaise closely with the centre management team.

    •  Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively to direct reports

    •  Ability to mentor and develop subordinates, counselling and coaching as necessary.

    •  High degree of interest in their own personal development and future career progression
