About The Role:

Days of Working: This is a permanent, full-time itinerant position with responsibility for the North region. The role is home-based, with an expectation to spend approximately 2-3 days per week within Yorkshire and surrounding areas, visiting operational sites, supporting management teams, and engaging with key clients. Regular regional and occasional national travel will be required.

As a Divisional Director, you will provide strategic leadership across a national security operation, ensuring the successful delivery of services through strong operational management, client engagement, commercial performance and compliance oversight.

Whilst this role holds overall responsibility for the strategy, governance, standards and compliance of our specialist canine services offering, we are seeking an experienced operational leader rather than a canine specialist. The technical canine aspects of the role can be developed, however applicants must bring proven experience of leading large-scale security operations, driving performance, managing client relationships and delivering business growth.

The Divisional Director will play a key role in shaping operational strategy, supporting contract performance, developing teams, and ensuring consistently high standards of service delivery across a national portfolio.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Operations Managers, Supervisors and frontline operational personnel.
  • Take overall responsibility for the operational performance of a national portfolio of security contracts.
  • Ensure all contracts are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with client requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the company's canine service offering, including governance, standards, compliance, workforce planning and recruitment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, ensuring exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Support business growth through involvement in tenders, presentations, mobilisations and new business opportunities.
  • Monitor financial performance, profitability and operational KPIs, implementing improvement plans where required.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective leadership, performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee audit programmes, compliance requirements and regulatory standards across the division.
  • Provide leadership and support during operational incidents and contribute to wider business planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure consistency of service delivery and sharing of best practice across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Operations, Commercial, HR, Recruitment and Compliance functions to support business objectives.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Significant senior operational management experience within the security industry.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-site security operations.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams across multiple contracts and locations.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budget management, contract performance and profitability.
  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining successful client relationships.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong understanding of SIA licensing requirements, BS7858 standards and relevant security legislation.
  • Proven ability to lead organisational change, drive operational improvements and deliver business objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Yorkshire, the North region and nationally as required.
Desirable:
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • A valid SIA licence.
  • Experience supporting contract mobilisations, transformations or large-scale service implementations.
  • Knowledge of tender processes, bid support and business development activities.
  • Experience operating within a specialist security service environment.
  • Understanding of workforce planning, recruitment and compliance management within the security sector.
