About The Role:

 
Key Responsibilities – AFM / Multi Skilled Engineer
 
Facilities Management Support
 
• Support and deputise for the Facilities Manager in the day-to-day delivery of integrated facilities management services.
• Act as a key point of contact for client stakeholders, service providers, contractors and building occupants.
• Support the management of both hard and soft service delivery contracts, ensuring service excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, compliant and resilient workplace environment.
• Participate in site inspections, compliance audits, contractor reviews and client meetings as required.
• Support the Facilities Manager with scopes of work, service specifications and project delivery.
• Assist with mobilisation activities, service enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understand and support the operational requirements of the building, providing recommendations and feedback to improve performance and customer outcomes.

Engineering & Building Maintenance Support
• Provide practical and competent delivery of minor fabric works including: 
o Painting and decorating.
o Furniture repairs and adjustments.
o Minor fabric repairs.
o First-line fault diagnosis and repairs.
o Basic plumbing, mechanical and electrical works within competency levels.
• Carry out routine workplace inspections and identify opportunities for maintenance improvements.
• Support building users with facilities-related issues and service requests.
• Liaise with specialist contractors to coordinate corrective actions and repairs.
• Assist in maintaining building systems and infrastructure to maximise operational performance and reliability.
• Support small works projects and maintenance initiatives as directed by the Facilities Manager.
• Ensure all works are undertaken safely, professionally and with minimal disruption to business operations.
Contractor & Service Performance Management
• Support the management of maintenance contractors and service partners to ensure contractual obligations are achieved.
• Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs and compliance requirements.
• Identify trends of underperformance and formally communicate findings to the Facilities Manager.
• Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans where required.
• Hold service providers accountable for delivering agreed standards of quality, compliance and customer service.
• Support contractor review meetings and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure all contractors operate safely and in accordance with client and company policies and procedures.
• Promote service excellence through proactive engagement and effective performance management.

Customer Experience
• Deliver exceptional customer service to all building users, visitors and stakeholders.
• Build strong working relationships with client representatives, stakeholders and service partners.
• Create a customer engagement culture focused on quality, innovation, responsiveness and continuous improvement.
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance workplace experience and operational efficiency.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer concerns and service-related issues.
• Maintain a visible, approachable and supportive presence within the workplace.
• Contribute ideas and initiatives that improve the customer experience and add value to the contract.
Health, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all work activities are carried out safely and in accordance with: 
o Health & Safety legislation.
o Company policies and procedures.
o Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
o Client-specific requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with company operational platforms, standards and procedures.
• Support compliance with: 
o ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
o ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
o ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
• Ensure adherence to all client Information Security protocols and requirements.
• Support audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all operations and contractor activities.
• Ensure that all facilities operations meet statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations at all times.
Team & Business Support
• Work collaboratively with on-site operational teams, specialist contractors and client stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery across the Lothbury site.
• Provide operational support and cover for colleagues within the facilities team where required.
• Communicate company and contract objectives effectively to operational teams.
• Support the Facilities Manager in delivering KPI targets, compliance objectives and service excellence standards.
• Promote professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the contract.
• Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, business and colleague information.
• Support the Facilities Manager in implementing business initiatives and operational improvements.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business and operational requirements.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential

• Experience within Facilities Management, Building Services, Property Services or a similar environment.
• Demonstrable experience supporting both hard and soft FM services.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with the ability to undertake minor engineering and fabric works.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
• Experience using CAFM or facilities management software platforms.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexibly to support operational requirements within the Lothbury site.
• Right to work in the UK.
Desirable

• IWFM qualification or working towards an FM qualification.
• Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Experience within a corporate office, professional services or financial services environment.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance management.
• Understanding of ISO management systems and auditing requirements.
• Experience working within a client-facing integrated facilities management contract.
