A Front‑of‑House (FOH) Security Officer is the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and contractors entering a building or site. They combine customer service with security professionalism, helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and well‑managed environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Access Control
Monitor and manage entry and exit points.
Verify ID badges, visitor passes, and contractor authorisation.
Prevent unauthorised access.
Maintain accurate visitor logs.
2. Customer Service
Greet visitors and provide directions or assistance, ALL VISITORS WILL BE SEARCHED
Handle enquiries courteously and professionally.
Coordinate with reception staff or building management.
3. Monitoring & Patrols
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify risks.
Monitor CCTV systems (if part of role).
Report hazards, maintenance issues, and suspicious behaviour.
4. Incident Response
Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies.
Follow site‑specific incident response procedures.
Provide clear communication to control rooms or emergency services.
5. Safety & Compliance
Enforce health and safety protocols, including fire safety procedures.
Assist during evacuations or building lockdowns.
Conduct security checks on bags, deliveries, or vehicles (if required).
6. Conflict Management
De‑escalate tense situations using effective communication.
Manage difficult or aggressive individuals professionally.
Record incidents accurately for follow‑up or investigation.
7. Reporting & Documentation
Write detailed incident reports.
Complete daily occurrence logs.
Communicate issues to supervisors or facilities/security management.
