Days of Working: The Hub Supervisor is primarily scheduled for an early-day shift (06:00–14:00) Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday coverage. However, the role also demands flexibility, meaning shift times or working days may change occasionally to meet operational demands across the UAL estate. This could include adjusting working days, providing cover, or supporting out-of-hours needs during incidents or peak workload periods.
As the Hub Cleaning Manager, this role works across multiple UAL hub locations, including Milbank, Elthorne Road, Lime Grove and Merton Road, providing consistent operational leadership and service delivery. The position operates on an early‑morning core shift pattern of 06:00–14:00, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday working required. You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting a team of over 50 frontline cleaning operatives, maintaining a strong on‑site presence to ensure operational control, service quality, and compliance. The role requires flexibility to adapt working hours or days in response to operational needs or incidents, as well as close collaboration with internal teams, supervisors, subcontractors and university representatives.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the implementation of OCS policies and operational procedures.
- Managing and maintaining the Timegate T&A system, ensuring accurate staff scheduling, leave recording, and contractor hours.
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly payroll checks to ensure correct submissions for pay runs.
- Maintaining a safe working environment through strict adherence to OCS health and safety policies.
- Leading quality assurance activities across domestic cleaning and soft services, ensuring compliance with SOPs, legislation, and contract KPIs.
- Upholding and promoting company core values including integrity, transparency, honesty, and respect.
- Ensuring staffing levels remain aligned with contract specifications.
- Maintaining visibility across sites, reinforcing service standards, behaviours and team presentation.
- Contributing to the duty manager rota and producing monthly performance and project reports.
- Providing operational support and carrying out reasonable instructions from senior management.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have Right to Work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
- BICS would be highly desirable.
- Managerial experience of large multi-skilled teams.
- Cleaning experience with knowledge of infection control and 2021 cleaning standards.
- Experience of P&L and budgetary management.
- Experience in report writing for complex subjects to be effectively communicated to various stakeholders.
