Days of Working: This role is working 8am until 5pm, there needs to be flexibility to assist with covering 1pm until 10pm shift when there is a requirement.
A porter is a key support role responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods, equipment, and furniture, working across our client sites including hospitals, schools, offices, and universities. Your duties often include setting up rooms, handling deliveries, assisting with minor maintenance, and ensuring spaces are ready for use. Porters help keep operations running smoothly by being adaptable, physically capable, and responsive to the needs of staff and service users.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Replacing clock batteries and assisting with minor maintenance tasks.
- Setting up and rearranging office layouts, including furniture moves.
- Preparing meeting and conference rooms by connecting laptops, teleconference phones, and other equipment as requested via the Helpdesk.
- Ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in line with site procedures.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
- Will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- Experience in a similar role is desirable, but a willingness to learn is equally valued.
- A good understanding of health and safety practices and their importance in the workplace.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks, such as moving furniture and equipment.
