Utilities Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Utilities Coordinator with a strong background in the UK energy market, particularly across ICP/DNO and IDNO Infrastructure Networks. The role will focus on developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical systems, ensuring our bids and tenders are commercially robust and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce design approval packages and management of the design approval process associated with the DNOs/IDNO networks.
• Interface with and attend meetings with clients, IDNO or DNO.
• Coordinate project requirements at the design and construction stage with civil, electrical, protection & control designers and other third parties where required.
• Coordinate design with clients, sub-contractors, consultants and designers.
• Support the Project Delivery Team during construction and assist in the Project Design Change Process.
• Configure and maintain the project programme during the design phase, ensuring all activities, milestones, and dependencies are accurately captured and regularly updated.
• Undertake Network demand calculations and design Points of Connection (POCs) from existing electric networks to provide technical solutions and quotations for 3rd party POC Applications.
• Liaise with the MU team and wider business to resolve any issues.

Skills and Experience:

• Previously worked within an ICP/IDNO/DNO
• Knowledge of LV/11kV networks
• Knowledge of G81 specifications
• Competent user of various electrical design software
• Committed and hard working
• Organised, with good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Can adapt to different tasks quickly, efficiently and confidently
• Capable of working in an autonomous or team orientated environment
• Well-presented and confident
• Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office and Estimating software
• Excellent Communication skills

Qualifications

• Engineering, construction, or infrastructure-related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree). Not essential
• Experience with multi‑utility projects or large-scale construction programmes.
• Familiarity with asset search systems, mapping software, or CAD.
• NRSWA Supervisor/Operative accreditation (not essential)
