About The Role:

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday but weekend cover and evenings around event activity may be required.

The Senior Contract Support Manager – NEC Group is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the successful mobilisation, resourcing and workforce planning of over 1,800 colleagues across the five venues within the NEC Group portfolio.

With responsibility for delivering workforce solutions for over 700 events annually, this role ensures the contract is fully recruited, trained, scheduled and supported to meet operational demands, whilst driving colleague engagement and recognition across the contract
 
Key responsibilities will include but not limited too: 
 
  • Develop and implement a workforce strategy to support over 700 events per year across five venues
  • Ensure sufficient recruitment pipelines are in place to meet seasonal and event-driven demand
  • Oversee effective scheduling and deployment of colleagues to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective event delivery
  • Monitor staffing levels, attrition rates and labour forecasting to maintain operational resilience
  • Lead recruitment campaigns to attract high-quality colleagues aligned to the NEC Group’s values
  • Oversee onboarding and compliance processes to ensure all colleagues are appropriately vetted and trained
  • Ensure robust training programmes are in place to support operational excellence and colleague development
  • Work closely with operational leaders to identify future capability needs
  • Oversee the Customer Contact function
  • Lead colleague engagement initiatives across the contract
  • Develop and implement recognition programmes to celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond
  • Support a culture of inclusion, pride and professionalism across the workforce
  • Monitor engagement metrics and turnover trends, implementing improvement strategies where required
  • Provide clear leadership and direction to the Contract Support function
  • Manage budgets effectively and identify opportunities for efficiency and value
  • Produce regular performance reports for the Account Director and NEC Group stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, contractual and company requirements
  • Providing high level summary of workforce, compliance and workforce data to the SLT
  • Lead on workforce system liaison with the wider group
  • Point of contact for our labour agency provider
  • Social Value - Employability & Community, including stakeholder engagement with funded partners.
 
Experience required for the role:
  • Proven experience in workforce planning and large-scale recruitment.
  • Experience managing high-volume operational contracts (1,000+ colleagues).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience in event, venue, facilities management or security environments.
  •  Excellent organisational and analytical skills
Desirable:
  • Experience within live events or multi-venue environments.
  • Experience managing customer contact or workforce systems.
  •  CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
