About The Role:

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 8am to noon

Join the team that keeps one of Edinburgh’s most high-profile estates looking its absolute best. We’re hiring an enthusiastic and detail-focused Exterior Cleaning Operative to help maintain outstanding cleanliness and presentation across the Haymarket Estate’s outdoor spaces.

Your Role You’ll play a key part in delivering professional exterior cleaning services—from sweeping walkways to maintaining building façades—all while ensuring the estate remains welcoming, safe, and spotless. This is a fantastic opportunity if you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in completing tasks under your own initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily exterior cleaning tasks across the estate, including public areas, paths, bins, and furniture
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as sweepers, pressure washers, and waste management tools
  • Complete tasks in line with scheduled routes and service requirements
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed at all times
  • Update the TORK cleaning system with completed tasks and service details
  • Use data from the TORK system to guide efficient delivery and maintain standards
  • Respond promptly and professionally to any on-site requests or issues
  • Maintain a tidy and presentable appearance, representing the estate with pride

 What You Bring

  • Experience in outdoor or facilities cleaning (preferred but not essential)
  • A good understanding of safe cleaning practices and equipment handling
  • Comfort with basic digital systems—training on TORK will be provided if needed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • A professional, reliable, and courteous approach
  • Physical stamina and willingness to work outdoors in all weather
  • Basic education and good communication skills
