About The Role:

As QHSE Training Manager, you will support the UK&I business in identifying training needs and manage a range of competence-based training through a variety of avenues to meet legislative requirements and ensure compliance with applicable standards.

You will be based at our head office in Ipswich, with occasional home-based working, with travel and overnight stays dependent on business needs from time to time.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive QHSE training strategy that aligns with company objectives and regulatory requirements.  Support the Heads of QHSE and divisional leadership to assess training needs and identify knowledge gaps.
  • Identify statutory and mandatory QHSE training needs across the business and establish a business wide QHSE training framework based on job roles.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging and effective QHSE training materials and courses for classroom, virtual, e-learning and blended learning, including where appropriate train-the-trainer sessions and supporting material.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training programs meet the needs of the business. 
  • Work collaboratively with the OCS Learning and Development Team and other trainers across the business as appropriate, to ensure alignment and consistency of approach.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with relevant QHSE regulations and standards as appropriate.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for employees and other stakeholders as appropriate, at various levels within the company.
  • Administer the OCS LMS, ensuring its functionality is effective in producing live accurate training matrices with supporting evidence
  • Undertake training compliance audits, with full gap analysis and subsequent training plans.
  • Work closely with the Head of Quality and Compliance on any specific inputs and outputs relating to QHSE training which may be specifically required by the standards and or accreditations held by the business.
  • Provide support to mobilisation teams where new contracts have identified specific training requirements as directed by the associated Head of QHSE and/ Head of Transformation & Integration.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities and certifications for internal training.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, conducting evaluations, and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Support the business to maintain existing accreditations to deliver training such as IOSH Managing Safely and IOSH for Executives and Directors.
  • Support the wider QHSE function as required, this may include (but not limited to) incident investigation, auditing and general support and advice to operational teams.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Proven experience in QHSE training or related roles with at least two years of experience delivering face-to-face training.
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or complete the IOSH Train the Trainer course.
  • Experience in developing e-learning, using Rise and Articulate software
  • Up to date qualifications to deliver First Aid courses and Mental First Aid courses.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with QHSE management systems, auditing processes, and relevant software tools
  • Effective Communicator: proven ability to clearly convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Training and Presentation: Experience in delivering engaging and informative training sessions
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Full, current driving licence.
