This role sits within our Cleaning business division that provides cleaning and hygiene services to a wide range of prestigious clients, within the Retail & Leisure market.

About The Role:

Days of Working: Monday to Saturday

Shift Pattern: 06:00am to 11:00am

We’re recruiting for a Cleaning Manager to join our passionate and driven Cleaning team.

You’ll oversee all cleaning and associated duties carried out by all those that you are responsible supervising. 

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish a thorough understanding of the site specification for your site and monitor the frequencies of all activities
  • Ensure the specification is being met on site at all times
  • Effectively communicate with your Area Manager regarding the specification and ensure they are aware of any challenges which may need to be escalated further
  • Build and maintain an effective working relationship with the customer by ensuring you and your team communicate with the customer’s employees in the appropriate way
  • Respond to any customer feedback in a professional and timely manner
  • Attend T5 meetings daily and other site management specific meetings as required
  • Take a proactive approach in developing the provision of services on site whilst working inside agreed specifications
  • Ensure all audits are completed within agree timescales
  • Work with the Area Manager to determine an action plan if audits are not satisfactory
  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment on site is safe and appropriate to use and any defects to be reported
  • Responsibility for monitoring cleaning product on site, maintaining stock levels and submitting orders as required in line with agreed site budgets
  • Ensure chemicals and other equipment are stored correctly with correct labelling and COSH data
  • Safeguard colleague compliance with H&S standards and procedures at all times
  • Ensure all site sign in procedures are followed and clock in times are recorded accurately
  • Ensure all rotas are in place to cover the needs of the site taking into account peak periods.
  • Control over hours budget spent on site with reviews by Area Manager on weekly basis
  • Ensuring employees on site wear correct uniform and PPE whilst monitoring site spend on such items
  • Monitoring spend on equipment and machinery on site to adhere to agreed site budgets
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emails
  • Submit timesheets and absence logs in keeping with established processing deadlines
  • Submit leaver forms accurately and promptly in keeping with established processing deadlines
  • Conduct Record of Conversation discussions with employees ensuring documentation is clear
  • Performance manage employees who may need additional support and development to meet required standards.
  • Involvement with investigation matters such as personal accident or potential disciplinary investigations
  • Monitoring absence levels on site and escalating for further action where appropriate
  • Recruit new employees where required and in line with budget considerations following established recruitment procedures/documentation
  • Effectively onboard new starters on site such as Right to work document checks and submitting new starter documentation
  • Identify any training needs on site, conduct the training where possible and keep appropriate records of training completed on site
  • Other duties reasonably expected to deliver an effective and efficient service to our customer
Performance Standards: 
  • Weekly ‘green’ store audits conducted on site with client
  • Employee turnover across site.
  • Control and reporting of sickness and absence on site
  • Satisfactory budget control on site
  • Efficient processing of timesheets and employee submissions within timescales
  • Positive relationships with colleagues and client employees
Requirements:

Skills

  • Ability to influence and gain commitment from colleagues

Experience

  • Experience of managing people E.g. Team Leader or supervisory roles
  • Experience within the cleaning industry
  • Proven track record of dealing with customers
