Shift Pattern: Saturday and Sunday
As a Catering Assistant working in a store and delivering goods, you will manage stock levels, perform stock checks, and request orders to keep everything well-stocked. You will receive food and non-food items, ensure they’re stored safely, and date stamp them upon delivery. You will keep accurate records of orders, report any damaged containers or overstocking, and monitor storage chillers and freezers. Plus, you will drive, load, and unload vehicles to deliver orders, and perform vehicle safety checks, reporting any issues to your supervisor. It’s a hands-on role that keeps you busy and ensures everything runs smoothly.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Establish and maintain maximum and minimum stock levels, carry out stock checks, and request orders to maintain agreed stock levels.
- Take receipt of all food and non-food items, ensure safe storage and temperature checks, and date stamp all goods upon delivery.
- Issue ad hoc stock items requested by other areas of catering, ensuring correct packing and safe handling.
- Assist with internal/external audits, deep clean storage areas, and ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, report any damaged containers or overstocking, and monitor storage chillers and freezers.
- Driving, loading and unloading trust vehicles around the respective site(s) to deliver orders. Carrying out driver maintenance and vehicle safety checks reporting any defects to the supervisor.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have Right to Work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Level 2 Food Safety Training and Banksman Training.
- Experience in customer service and awareness of customer service provision.
- Knowledge of stores & stock control procedures.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills, basic IT skills, and knowledge of stores and stock control procedures.
